The same thing happens with my HP all-in-one. It is so annoying to have the little box pop up to tell me my printer is connected. And it's not like it keeps getting disconnected from the network either. I've decided it's just very needy and likes me to know it's still there waiting (rather impatiently) for me to print something. Since I tend to be a very frugal printer, I can see where it might get frustrated!

RSE ~ Does your printer have a document feeder for book scanning? I've asked for a printer for Christmas that I can use to start scanning in all my old paperbacks (as if I don't have enough hobbies already ) but need to give my husband some idea as to which printer would be best for that purpose.

That's what I like about my HP. There are 5/6 different color cartridges so I only have to replace a single color. I've had the printer for a couple of years now and never had to replace the light blue cartridge. Kind of weird when I think about it.
