I appreciate that! I'm honestly not sure how much of a sample Amazon does for the Kindle (that is the whispernet thing, isn't it?). The 75% I mentioned is what I set for my sample on Smashwords. And of course I've had the opening chapters on my blog for some time. It has seemed logical to me that being able to get a feel for a book by somebody you've never heard of is pretty essential.

P.S. My apologies for seeming like I was trying to clog the place up with three identical threads. I just really wanted to know how people felt about this (and it's been educational) and I wasn't sure there was a lot of cross traffic between those three boards. I understand why Patricia closed the other two.
