I read in Portrait mode.
I was used to 6 inch screen, so I was a little bit apprehensive about how much text I can comfortably squeeze into 5 inch screen. I am very pleased with the experience so far.
The display is very sharp, the serif Droid font (that I have downloaded and installed alongside default fonts) seems to be much better hinted and rendered than comparable size serif font on my old PRS-500. I have scoured forums for font suggestions and I am going to try them all and find the one that is perfect for me.

I have tweaked the config file for FBReader manually, and now I am very pleased with the way the text is displayed. I even use full justification now. Hyphenation seems to make great difference and now, for the first time, I see pages with very uniform "Typographical grey" on my portable e-book reading device. I do not know what algorithm the FBReader uses to optimize line breaks and hyphenation but the text does not look half bad from typographical point of view.

With the new Epson controller the flash during page turn is very quick. Much quicker than "manual" turning of page in a paper book can ever be ;-)
