Kindle owners love being tied to Amazon?? I don't know any Kindle owners who wouldn't want more choices on where to purchase content. Kindle owners can't even take advantage of the libraries that offer ebooks.

Amazon doesn't carry everything and its likely they won't subsidize books forever as they do now, As competition in the reader market heats up they will have to keep reducing the price of the Kindle and then make more money on the content. The writing is on the wall
