Well, I really did hope someone would return it to me. I could stand a little bit of embarassment if I got my 1-year old kindle 1 in its red Oberon cover back. But, I had ordered another kindle at the same time, which wasn't being used, and this week
I ordered a new Oberon cover for my daughter's kindle (which is now mine!) and it is my favorite color, purple. I will put a business card in that case, too.
I'm not really worried about someone associating me with trashy novels. I have been looking at my credit card transactions and my amazon account (I didn't deregister it) and there is nothing. So, unfortunately, I think my lovely kindle is sitting in the trash somewhere. The briefcase was in good condition (very, very feminine) and had a coffee cup with lipstick on the rim along with the kindle. Someone probably just opened it up, was grossed out by the coffee cup, and ditched the whole thing.
Anyway, I cried about losing it in another thread, and I will update that thread if it ever turns up. I started this thread to praise the kindle-awareness of the Chicago rail system.
Calling Amazon to get the kindle back to its owner is pretty cool, dontcha think?
