farking POST !!!!!!
making me get up EARLY on a SATURDAY and rush there before they close, and walk all over the city on my injured foot to pick up a package i urgently needed and should have had a week ago !
i ordered a new batch of allergy desensitisation treatment over 3 weeks ago. it takes 10 days or so for the laboratory to make it, but should only take about 2 days for the post office to deliver it to me.
instead they've been apparently playing easter egg hunt with it since last thursday.
the problem with this is :
1. the treatment must be refrigerated ; it can survive the short transit via the post but not indefinitely. for all i know, the 10 vials i finally collected are now useless.
2. i have to take this treatment every day, and if i miss more than one week, all the previous progress is lost and i have to start the whole process from the beginning. it's a very long (several years) process of progressively higher doses, and i've been following it already for more than one year and only just recently started to really feel the effects, and the stuff is the most foul-tasting thing you could imagine, so i REALLY don't want to start from zero.
3. i finished the last vial several days ago and before that i was skipping every other day to make it last, so god only knows what my status is now.
4. this stuff costs a bleeding FORTUNE and i am sure that if this batch is ruined the post office is not going to pay for a replacement batch, which would take 2 weeks to get here at the earliest, by which time i would be back to level zero for sure.
when i called the lab last monday (getting worried) they told me according to the online tracker the post had "attempted to deliver" last saturday. this is an outright lie, first, i was at home last saturday morning, second they NEVER deliver packages on saturdays, and third if they do have a package which for whatever reason they cannot deliver (you are not at home, they don't feel like climbing the stairs...) they leave a delivery notice so you can get it yourself from the post office, and i got none, until yesterday. but when i went yesterday evening, the package STILL WASN'T THERE (a FULL WEEK later !!).
now i am tired from a too-short night (wind kept me awake for a long time) and my foot hurts from walking too much and i am feeling REALLY cranky and i can't even take a nap because i have a meeting this afternoon, and i'll have to walk back to right next to the bloody post office for the meeting, but naturally i couldn't make only one trip because the stupid post office will be closed then. AAAARRG !! plus i am worried that i have 4 months' of treatment in my refrigerator which is quite possibly good for the trashbin and that i have to start this stupid treatment from the beginning.
