wouldn't two separate devices be better, a tablet and a reader? Having them joined together makes them bulky and heavy. Difficult to hold comfortably. Awkward for reading and awkward for browsing.

As far as charging more for colors other than blue; that is just a way to make planning and re-stocking easier. Remember Henry Ford: "you can have any color as long as it is black". They want to discourage you from buying the other colors but still have something else in case someone really dislikes their main choice.
