No downloading, not even in pdf. Certainly no formats that you can load on your hand-held ebook reader.

Yeah, the library that is contracting Overdrive, gets to pick and choose the type of content and how it is displayed. Some libraries, allow downloads from Overdrive, others audiobook only, some have no check out, just via the webpage (I guess it would be cheaper, due to fewer licenses needed for each book title).
