Although I think the "C" should stand for CHOCOLATE, Patricia is actually correct, it is compression.
Zelda, I hope your ankle recovers quickly. PBOb's suggestion of an ACE bandage was perfect. You need to wrap it securely so that the ankle's range of movement is inhibited but not so tight that you cut off the flow of blood. Growing up in a Coach's and Nurse's household, you learn a thing or two about injury care. Of course, I was the only non-athlete in the house so rarely had to worry about injuries.
