This market is wide open. I have heard good reviews on the Dell Mini and the Asus machines. Also the Samsung machines have been reviewed well.
There are some new machines that are convertible and have touch screens too. Also, a lot of them now come with Win 7 already... so you don't need to upgrade them... which is a bit of a pain cause many Netbooks don't have optical drives.
If you want 3G Internet access you might want to look at getting on from Verizon or Sprint... they both have units that they subsidize if you sign a two year data service contract.
I know some people here have some of these devices, so I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions.. good luck on your purchase.
