I understand that the risk of bricking will dissuade many people. I myself had a scare just this afternoon. To be honest though, the average port doesn't touch the root file system, so the risk is very minimal. Programming and porting has brought back that "new toy" feeling to my iLiad. Not to mention that with every new project I try, I learn more about linux and application development. That's how I can justify doing a lot of this at work, it helps me be a better network admin.

Let's hope iRex can keep their proposed schedule for an April debricking option. Maybe that in addition to mobipocket support will help bring the forums to life again.
