A new comment now that I can compare it with Kindle 2.

I find that Kindle 2 has better contrast than the Sony Reader PRS-600. However, Kindle 2 has a pretty dark background that some may find annoying.

Kindle 2 is readable in less adequate lighting conditions.

However I believe that given adequate lighting PRS-600 looks better. That is, given adequate lighting PRS-600 is much improved, but Kindle 2 not that much (the background is still just as dark).
