ooooh, gratin dauphinois !!! well if i had any doubt left in my mind i think that's clinched it. i sense a mandoline in my (very near) future. quickly, while it's still cold enough to want gratin dauphinois. i'm still somewhat hoping to find one for a bit less dosh though. i would ask my friend where she got hers, but i get the feeling she's had it since before i was born, so it might not be a very useful tip.
