It looks to be general that the Irex is a better option… still much more expensive and with other less positive things… like much less battery time for use.

With Amazon getting the “normal” kindle international, people are expecting that an international DX will follow… probably early next year.
If you can wait and want to get “everybody else’s” use - like 3G in it… it’s an option.
If not, you can try eBay or if you have someone in the US with a US address and credit card, you can try to have them to buy the actual version for you… and a positive part is, if you are in the euro land, the DX costs really much less then the Irex because of the money conversion.
