and if it's not an even week *or* an odd week, it's closer to galoshes.
and now, my vent o' the day : aaarg farking bureaucracy and administration and paperwork !! today i went to the maison des artistes (the administration which handles my professional status / health insurance) to turn in my dossier for last year. i get there, i take a number, i wait my turn, then with the lady we start to go through all the documents :
- form ?
- form.
- copies of client bills ?
- copies of client bills.
- documentation of your work ?
- ...
yep, i didn't have that. and i couldn't for the life of me understand why it was missing. i actually assembled this stupid dossier months ago, but i had a couple of questions to ask so i had to take it in person. but since i assembled it months ago, i only checked quite briefly today before leaving and didn't verify every document.
so she didn't record it, instead she sent me back with all my papers and i have to go back. as if i have nothing better to do with my time ! especially right now ! arg !!!
on my way home i tried to remember how it was i didn't make prints of those papers at the same time as all the other ones.
finally i remembered : oh, yes. it's because, the last time i went, the lady took all those papers and handed them back to me without even looking at them. she said, "we only need those if it's the first year you are declaring under the status of artist, or the first year you qualify for health insurance coverage from us." since it wasn't my "first year" anymore normally i shouldn't need those documents at all. which means i have to go back a second time for nothing !!!!!
it also means i have to make those prints anyway, just in case, because god knows the requirement probably changes depending on who you talk to, and since already i am quite late with this stupid dossier i should probably not stir the pot any more than necessary. to her credit, the lady i saw today was very nice about the situation and didn't even yell at me for being late. probably she sees this all the time, artists are notorious for being terrible with paperwork. right ?
ARG !!!
