Hmm, it might be nice to do a Wiki entry, like the venerable and well-love Reader Matrix , for eBook publishing. Woudl anyone be interested in creating such a thing? pdurrant seems to have a lot of information in this thread, it is a shame not to have it in a more easily comparable form. And it might even motivate the different sites to sweeten their offers to match the other things out there. What do you think? I don't really understand the Wiki format, but if someone who has posted in the Wiki is willing to get a table started, I will start adding information.

I figure we need the following information about each publisher: Formats available, DRM (optional, required, unavailable), for purchase / free, sales agreements (% to author, extra fees), formatting options (theirs or individual versions), extra services (Lulu offers editing and proofing) and how much they cost, collateral distribution agreements (Smashwords makes their catalog available to Amazon and B&N, etc.), restrictive agreements (can you publish elsewhere, on paper, etc.), entry criteria (do you need to go through a publisher, are their geographical restrictions, like I hear Amazon does with publishers that need US tax ID numbers, or something). I am sure there are other things we want to know. Anybody?
