I generally look in the MobileRead ebooks section first, then in places like Project Gutenberg, if I'm not creating my own ebook edition. (I convert HTML format books for Plucker on Palm OS devices.) While places like Munseys and Manybooks carry public domain ebooks in just about every format, the format conversions are done by scripts. The MobileRead versions are hand crafted by the authors to take best advantage of what the ebook readers that use those formats can do.
