We're talking about taking a trip down to Williamsburg or heading over to DC to wander through the Smithsonian. I haven't seen all of the newly renovated Museum of American History yet. The lines for the First Ladies and Pop culture eshibits were too long the last time we were there and my husband has absolutely no patience for lines.
I'm not terribly patient with them either, but they weren't present for the bits I wandered through. Mostly the fossils from prehistoric times, and because it's in the same building, the Insect Hall (with what I can only describe as a small insect petting zoo manned by a volunteer ), and an African Hall that had me researching Yoruba religious offshoots when I got back. I was aware of Voodoo and Santeria, but was not aware of Candomble, a Brazilian variant.

Add in some rooftop gardens and the Tishman Hall of African Art, and it was a delightful day.
