Every book in the store that I tested, from bestsellers to front page store items to DTP titles, from 3pm to 3:30pm (all EDT) showed the "not available in US" logo. Many still do and it comes and goes (it was happening again on the free titles just a few minutes ago and on and off on the pre-order bestsellers). Hitting refresh 3 or 4 times sometimes brings up a buy button (sometimes not).
However, you can apparently download the sample to your Kindle and then order from their instead. The false geographic restriction is apparently NOT affecting sales there (or at least, no one has reported the problem - the web site issue is being widely commented upon).
