I've been using 796 on both a 64MB and 512MB Cybook for some time now. No real problems with crashing.

However, there were a couple of "FULL REPLACEMENT" older firmware updates that could resurrect the older Cybooks in case of complete firmware failure. You'd have to ask Bookeen for one.
