You are right, they are not identical - in fact they are a slightly different shape - but their specification on the label is identical in that they both say TomTom, 5.0V 1.0A (this from memory), and they are both sold by TomTom for use with the TomTom GPS range.

When I get home next week I plan to do 3 things:
- check that one of the TomTom chargers actually does successfully charge the KIndle
- post photos of the 2 TomTom chargers
- if possible, measure the actual resistance between the 2 data pins in the 2 chargers (and compare it with the Amazon charger).
