Who knows?
I spent a summer in the 1970s working in a mental hospital. Whenever anyone got angry, half-a-dozen nurses would jump on them and inject chlorpromazine, leaving the patient subdued and dazed for hours. The place boasted that it no longer used straitjackets, and the chemical cosh was the preferred alternative.
(I was in the art therapy unit, mostly, and never jumped on anybody.)
