With the new firmware, initially the library looks exactly the same as it did. If you go into the "Settings/Advanced" menu, there's now a "Folder View" item. Selecting this changes the library from a "flat" view to a folder view.

In folder view it still looks the same (thumbnail images of book covers), but at the start of the library listing you have a "go up a level" folder icon, and an icon for each sub-folder within the current folder. After all the sub-folders, it lists the books in the folder, exactly as at present.

It's an interface which works very well.
