I read all these comments about problems with the various versions of Windows Op and wonder why I've never really experienced any huge difficulties. I've used most of the versions listed. Sure there is a slight learning curve, but for the most part, they've worked fairly well for me. Of course, I don't do anything really fancy.

I have also used Macs in various forms (whoever marketed them to the education industry was a genius) and did nothing but swear, moan and complain. The Mac laptops (I think it was the G3) we were given constantly crashed and had to be repaired/replaced on a regular basis. I've had a couple of bad computers (I wouldn't buy a Gateway again even if you held a gun to my head) but the majority of them have worked very well. I bought a Fujitsu Lifebook over 10 years ago that finally just gave up the ghost this past spring. They just don't build them like that anymore.

Bottom line: it's all in your own personal experiences.
