I read the first six of these and I have to say that by the time I was through with the first two, I continued only out of a sense of misguided obligation. Based on my recollection, flawed as it probably is, I have never met a main character who appealed to me less.
Still, you're right... despite my opinions, he probably belongs on the list. I put Terry Brooks there and I wasn't even able to get through his Shanara stuff back in my early teens.
