I'm sorry, I mis-spoke (wrote). It's actually older peripherals that I need XP mode for.

My desktop computer is a bit over a year old, my netbook less than 6 months old. The laptop I use for work is the oldest at nearly 2 years. There is a piece of work equipment I use that was designed for XP, never worked with Vista but does with Win7 in XP mode.

I'm not sure about the "visualisation on the chip" stuff (I'm a mini-geek). Have you tried running the RC on your 3 year old machine?
