I do still consider my original purchase as worthwhile. I couldn't afford IREX, Sony was Japan only at the time, no Kindle and after years of ebookman and pda's I was ready to actually use e-ink instead of just reading about it. I also think NAEB made a good choice. There wasn't a lot available in the market at the time.

The bugs and problems were worthwhile considering the tradeoff of using a tiny pda screen. These days, there are a more stable choices (Sony, Kindle), and the prices are much lower. I don't think that the Bookeen was a bad choice then, but I think that new users should look carefully.
