Don't see why a different color should cost more. But I don't know about the manufacturing-maybe blue is the natural color of the plastic. (I do know about business-if they have to add color to the plastic anyway then it doesn't cost any more to add red than blue-so charging more for red, for example, is either poor management or greed.)
