Nice review, and I find I have the same thoughts as you regarding the reading. I also agree that the lack of memory is its greatest drawback.
But I'd like to add one thing:

You can read LCD devices perfectly outside, but they need to be transflective. If there was to arrive a transflective LCD device, 7", I'd buy it in a flash... I've read on my LCD based PDA in the hammock this summer with the backlight turned off.
