Ahh, I was under the impression that the V3 also had the rubber coating. This means that it may not be due to US regulatory 'standards' at all, but to Hanlin's inability to field-test their product correctly before releasing it to the public or passing it on to their distributors.
All I know is that I have been out of contact with my device for 2 weeks for an exchange, and now it's halfway through a second 2 week separation. Astak paid shipping both time, both ways. Thats 4 shipping charges Astak is soaking up because of the manufacturer's negligence. Hopefully there is a contractual clause that will allow
Astak to be reimbursed for these fees.
