Existing Adobe ePub (and PDF) ebooks are readable on the Nook, but the Nook ePubs from B&N will use an eReader-like "social" DRM based on your name on the credit card and the CC number. So this is different from the current AdobeID approach, and a new/updated circumvention tool will be required.

As you say, the "social" DRM will in principle be an option for any Adobe ePub and any device supporting Adobe ePub can be upgraded, at the vendor's option, to include this DRM scheme. It isn't yet clear if any other bookstore will use social DRM for ePubs and if existing EInk devices will be upgraded to support it (new devices probably will read ePubs with social DRM, because it will be a standard part of mobile ADE).
