I suspect the black flash looks worse in videos than in real life. Probably the videos have some kind of auto-brightness (whatever you call it) setting, that makes the whole image go lighter/darker when the screen flashes black. I was a bit worried too when I saw the first videos, but I'm not disturbed at all by the flash in real life.
