I have to say that I am now using my DR1000S only because there is no alternative. Firmware 1.7 introduced new bugs, especially the red light issues, almost a year after I bought my device. Battery life is still nowhere near others are claiming, and my device was sent to support once, due to battery lifetime.
When people see me using it, they get interested in it, and some even consider buying. I end up explaining to them that the device has many problems, and they'll have to endure them if they want to use it. I am using it, and I've benefited from its existence, but I can't recommend it at this point. At the moment some other product with an equally large or larger screen comes up, I'm leaving this device. Of course this will make Irex for me an unjustified investment. If it had provided the stability I was expecting, I would be perfectly happy, but for almost £500, I should not have this many problems.
