Well, I have to change card when the magnetic strip breakes or every 5 year and I get a new number then. So in essence all books I have bought does not have any more protection.
But I see, I got the impression from people writing about this scheme that it was OK (according to the seller) to give a book to a friend if you was willing to give away the credit card number. But that was just my misunderstanding.
