Yes the SONY devices are very sleek and portable. Right now there are a number of 5" devices that are very portable.

My feeling is they will not be focusing on devices but focusing on selling their DRM license. Like they did to Adobe. That means that their eBooks (ePUB) will be accessible to more devices.

The SONY models have folders (SONY calls them collection). Buy a iPhone/storm it's a 3" screen and very portable.
