If you're feeling adventurous...

Copy the extracted files to: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/loaders/

Then run the following command:

/usr/bin/gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > /etc/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders
