Can you read and have an audio file playing at the same time, pretty easily? I don't generally listen to too many audio books, but it's nice once in a while, and sometimes nice to have both.

I saw someone on the wishlist page suggest that it could automatically play an audio file and keep up in the book... I doubt that it could do that, except with a voice to speech support...

Is voice to speech a possible hack and add?
Uh, most readers DON'T do text-to-speech at the moment, so I don't see how this makes it any more lame than the iRex readers, or most anything save the Kindle or some of the Hanlin or Hanvon devices (which were either available only in China, or else were produced for other companies' under a different brandname). You could do both, but I'd consider it a waste of battery life - and the reader's player software isn't the best. You'd be better off reading on an iPod Touch if you want music and text.

Plus, given that voice-to-speech requires software that's not on there, you'd need to have someone come up with a whole new OS for the Sony Reader, which has yet to be done the last time I looked. You might as well buy a Kindle instead, if text-to-speech is THAT important to you. Just learn to do without ePub and prepare for your Amazon overlords to confirm whether the books on your reader are approved.
