This is certainly feasible and will be added to Sigil in time, as part of a larger "common actions shortcuts" menu or whatever. But this is a rather specific need. Sigil is currently still in its early stages, and there are a lot of things that affect most (if not all) of Sigil's users that need to be taken care of first. Features like a Search&Replace dialog (coming in the next version). After that there's some redesign work, and then we can talk about this. So I'm sorry to say you won't see it soon.
It's not that I don't think this is good feature—it is—but I need to prioritize.
Do add it to the tracker so I don't forget.
