Converting PDF via Calibre for Reader 300
Hi all,
Firstly, thanks to all the informative articles that I have used over the last week since I purchased my PRS-300. Without them it would have been returned by now due to rubbish software and the inability of Vista on my laptop to pick the reader up (it is now used with my XP machine with no real issues).
The reason for this post is simple. I purchased the reader to use it as a tool to handle the multitude of PDF files I read mainly downloaded from jstore; plus to have mobile access to lot of older books now available for free. It performs the latter admirably, however, PDFs are slow to turn pages and very difficult to read (I am a historian so I do not have to worry about loads of tables etc in the files I read). What I would like to do is to convert PDFs to epub format; Calibre does this but reduces 30 page documents to three or four, mainly just the front sheet and some notes.
So the question is: does anyone know how to get Calibre to convert properly or is there better software for this purpose?
I have read a lot of the articles regarding this subject and have tries converting to different formats then to epub with little success. Please help because I am in danger of disappearing up my own proverbial if I carry on for much longer.
Many thanks in anticipation.
Mark
