I read the excerpt I yesterday, and I think I would love the language. Not a book to read quickly. I've handled the printed version, and I wouldn't say it seems a particularly short book. A fairly good "book-sized" book, not a fantasy-epic, 2 kg, tome, not long enough to get lost in, just the size for a good, concentrated reading experience.

I suppose I could set aside Infinite Jest for a brief while (I've already spent a month with it) to read The Road. From the sounds of things, it may be just the change of pace I need right now. I'll keep an eye out for the discussion thread in a few weeks' time.
