As for noisy neighbours - the Bose noise cancelling headphones might work - unfortunately, if you want to listen to music with them you really need to listen to something that works well with the bass accentuated. I have considered getting some in the past, but rather balk at paying that amount of money for a pair of headphones!

oh, believe me, i would LOVE to get some noise-cancelling headphones, but good god, the prices !!! some of them cost as much as the GNP of a small country !

mine usually fall out in the course of the night. but i've worn them so much in the past few years that i tolerate them a little better. the worst is before i fall asleep, if the blanket is too high the edge can touch the earplug and it moves as i'm breathing, making a horrible sawing noise ! arg !

tee hee ! maybe we should go be hermits together. i think i would make an excellent hermit, but i would still want a bit of conversation from time to time. so 2 hermits would be the perfect solution.
