huh, i think the same people who lived there moved into the appartment under mine for a few years. but they expanded to having parties three or four times a week. the highlight was the piano recitals at 1 or 3 or 5 in the morning.

i hate earplugs too. they hurt my ears. and i was really frustrated at first because in fact you can still hear the noise when you wear them, plus sometimes you hear your own blood beating, i hate that. but after much practice i've come to realise that they don't block all noise but usually they reduce it to a level which is more ignorable. if i ever find some truly comfortable earplugs, i will let you know.
