You know how the saying more or less goes :
"When you only have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail"
Same thing when you only have an axe, every problem looks like a tree.
It's even worse when you only have a hareng, you know. Then you tend to see every problem as the highest tree in the forest, and it's pretty hard to cut a tree with a hareng ...
