Recently finished 'Garden of Beasts' by Jeffery Deaver; the first book of his I've read. An entertaining thriller set against the backdrop of the 1936 Berlin Olympics. A bit clunky in places, but some good twists and pacey writing kept me engaged.
Now two thirds of the way through 'The Marriage of Elinor' by Margaret Oliphant. It's been several weeks since I last read an Oliphant, and I was getting withdrawal symptoms. A late work, thoroughly enjoyable so far, and intriguingly echoing Oliphant's personal situation at the time she wrote it.
