I am curious about this, too. I only get about seven or eight days before it is down to one bar. I don't fully turn off my reader, but I swipe to turn pages.

I keep meaning to try for a week just using the buttons to turn the page, but I keep forgetting and find myself using the touch screen. I read mostly novels and use the dictionary maybe once or twice a day. Maybe someday I can do a more controlled test to compare how much more battery is used when you swipe to turn pages vs. using the buttons.
