I first heard of Tom Lehrer from my piano teacher. I must have been about 11. She first played "Brotherhood Week" for me, then she played "The Vatican Rag" -- being very careful to explain that it "wasn't really sacrilegious." Ooookaay!

I still consider "I Hold Your Hand in Mine" to be one of the finest love ballads ever written. Brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it.
