I'm new too, and yes they do seem very friendly.
I agree, dedicated ebooks take some getting used to, and my PRS 505 feels clunky next to all my other gadgets, but the screen is nice and crisp and I can get more ebooks for it than i could reading mobipocket ebooks on my phone.
