Unfortunately, none of us seem to be privy to their meetings, so no, we don't
know. But we're pretty sure it has to do with book distribution rights (specifically, their only having them in the U.S.), and since having the Reader is, effectively, having access to the ConnStore as a distribution node ....
The good news is, lately there've been a few news items that would seem to suggest that they may be heading towards launching the Reader in England, anyway.
