It gets worse. If I try to add a file to the calibre window, I get:

WARNING: Failed to read metadata: Failed to read metadata from the following:

Macdonald, Ross - The Chill.txt
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\add.py", line 92, in run
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\add.py", line 137, in add
File "site-packages\calibre\library\database2.py", line 1373, in create_book_entry
File "site-packages\calibre\library\sqlite.py", line 170, in run
DatabaseException: attempt to write a readonly database
RemoteTraceback (most recent call last):

OperationalError: attempt to write a readonly database

Save to Disk function is broken, too.

If I run as administrator, or run in WinXP compatibility mode, major functions seem to work, but I can't drag and drop a file in the calibre window. I can only use the Add Books icon.

My calibre library is on a logical drive. Folder settings are no different than any others. In the properties tab of the folder, the Read Only box is not checked, but it's filled in. I can change it, but it reverts back to the filled in setting --- whatever that means.

I'm going to try going back to 6.16 and see if that works, or if it's Win 7 RTM causing the issues..
