It was quite a shock to wake up this morning to hear that President Obama has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. I have never made any bones about the fact that I'm a Yellow Dog Democrat, but I think that this is a significant event inasmuch as it shows the people who look at these things on a global level want the United States to follow the path of engagement and discussion, rather than exclusion and aggression.
